Deadline Approaching for Garner Chamber Summit Awards Applications

GARNER, NC, August 10, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Having successfully debuted a new awards program last year, the Garner Chamber of Commerce is poised to yet again honor "the best in business" in Wake and Johnston Counties with its 2011 Summit Awards program. The Chamber will accept applications through Aug. 19, and there is no charge to apply for one or more awards.

Applicants may nominate their company or another Chamber member they feel deserves the honor. Summit Award categories include:

First Citizens Bank Exceptional Customer Service Award

Wachovia/Wells Fargo Integrity in Business Award - honoring companies that display dedication to corporate social responsibility, integrity and ethics

F&D Huebner, LLC dba McDonald's Entrepreneurial Awards - for 1-15 employees, 16-50 employees and 50-plus employees

WingSwept Steady Growth and Achievement Award

Klassy Kids Nonprofit Achievement Award - brand new category

Winners will be recognized at the Garner Chamber of Commerce 2011 Annual Meeting and Banquet on Sept. 29. Finalists will be announced prior to the awards ceremony.

"We're expecting even more nominations this year so I encourage our members to submit their applications early," said Neal Padgett, Garner Chamber president. "Judging is done by an out-of-state Chamber partner, and last year's winners received very high marks from them."
