Grand Law Firm Announces the Opening of its New Orleans Area Office
Opening a Metairie office to assist the New Orleans area and Northshore residents and businesses in filing for bankruptcy protection
June 04, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Trenton Grand, of the Grand Law Firm, is pleased to announce the opening of its New Orleans office at 2901 North Causeway Boulevard, Suite 208, Metairie, Louisiana 70002. This office is located just one block north of Veterans Boulevard, across from Lakeside Mall in the heart of the Metairie CBD and is now open to assist individuals and businesses that are facing financial difficulties, foreclosures, garnishments, lawsuits and harassment by creditors. The Grand Law Firm has over 15 years of experience in helping clients in the Baton Rouge area through the intimidating process of filing bankruptcy, and is now expanding into the New Orleans area to assist more clients from LaPlace, Chalmette, Algiers, Mandeville, and all areas in between.
"Our office has years of experience helping people in the Baton Rouge area deal with economic hardship," said Attorney Trenton A. Grand, "it only makes sense to offer that experience to those in the New Orleans area that are struggling with similar financial difficulties."
The opening of the Grand Law Firm's Metairie office comes at a time many people are struggling financially in the Crescent City metro area and on the Northshore. The Associated Press has recently reported that foreclosures are on the rise across the country and according to Louisiana Economic Development the foreclosure rate for the state of Louisiana increased by 40% in early 2009.
"The majority of homeowners want to stay in their homes," said Grand, "Homeowners should not panic just because they are facing foreclosure or because they have fallen behind on their mortgage. A chapter 13 bankruptcy is a legitimate option for those that are behind on payments to their mortgage company, but that want to keep their homes." Grand added, "A chapter 13 bankruptcy will stop the foreclosure in most instances and will allow an individual to catch up their mortgage payments through a payment plan that can last from 36 to 60 months."
Just last week, Reuters reported that a growing number of Americans were falling behind on their credit card payments. For those New Orleans area residents that are buried in unsecured debts, such as credit cards and medical bills, a chapter 7 bankruptcy could offer a solution.
"In most cases, a chapter 7 bankruptcy will stop garnishments, lawsuits, and harassing creditor calls, and will allow individuals to discharge most unsecured debts, such as credit cards, loans, and medical bills," said Grand, "The amount of stress on people in debt is extreme. Bankruptcy offers a legitimate solution to financial hardship, to relieve that stress, get a fresh start and to move on with your life. Our office prides itself on providing sound legal advice and on guiding our clients through the bankruptcy process. We are pleased to now be able to offer our services to the residents of the greater New Orleans area."
