Gary H. Hanson Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who Executive, Professional and Entrepreneurial Registry
Mr. Hanson serves as chairman of the social science department and teaches international baccalaureate economics, AP government, AP economics and United States politics.
APPLE VALLEY, CA, December 30, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gary H. Hanson, Teacher at Carter High School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of education.
With 17 years of experience in education, Mr. Hanson specializes in teaching economics. Inspired by his father, who was a teacher, he pursued his own career as an educator and credits his success to his hard work and organizational skills. He serves as chairman of the social science department and teaches international baccalaureate economics, AP government, AP economics and United States politics. His role in the establishment of Carter High School five years ago was by setting up systems and interviewing teachers and is his greatest professional accomplishment. He has also been a BTSA mentor for 11 years.
In addition to teaching, Mr. Hanson coaches baseball and is a high school football team broadcaster. He has 22 years of broadcasting experience in several radio formats including adult contemporary and has been aired on The Highway Stations (98.1 FM) for the last 10 years. He has been recognized by Who's Who Among American Teachers five times, is a recipient of the Eagle Scout Award from the Boy Scouts of America, has been a National Reader for AP exams in Economics the last six years, and is a five-time recipient of the Department Chairman Award for Social Science.
Mr. Hanson is pursuing his Doctor of Education in Higher Education with a concentration in instructional leadership at Argosy University and received his Master's Degree in Secondary Education from Long Beach State University in 1994. He also holds certifications in cross-cultural language and academic development and gifted and talented education. He is affiliated with the National Education Association. His future goals include teaching at the college level.
