Accounting Professor and Financial Wizard Talks About Financial Security Basics in Today's Unstable Economy
In a recent interview, an accountant and financial advisor discussed the financial literacy crisis in today's world and taught a few fundamentals of financial security.

/Economy News Articles/ - MOUNT JACKSON, VA, September 21, 2007 - Dr. Simini, professor and author of several financial and account textbooks shared proactive strategies he developed to educate people in the ways of financial independence.

According to Dr. Simini, most people are illiterate about finance. During a recent interview on Inside Wealth Success, he said, "Finance is not all that tough. If you want to become financially independent, you cannot depend upon someone else. You have to do it yourself with knowledge,".

Simini's mission is to help people become financially literate and financially independent. His most recent book is titled "Financially Independent." His greatest wish is that people would learn to live financially well off.

Dr. Simini blames the lack of financial literacy for causing crisis everywhere in the world. He points out the growing foreclosure rate, exorbitant credit card bills, and rampant bankruptcy. While government decisions, such as the recent drop in the Federal rate for certain types of loans, the true power lies in the everyday choices of the individuals.

According to the National Council on Economic Education, only seven states require students to take a personal finance course as a graduation requirement. Dr. Simini says that means that many adults and young people in this country do not know how to save or invest money. They do not understand the concepts of interest, inflation, recession or how these affect them.

Simini encourages the financially illiterate to follow his practical strategies to intelligently managing their money. He says it is not enough to have an accountant or bookkeeper. He encourages the education of children in finance and wealth building also. He defines illiteracy as not understanding the basics involved with home ownership, compound interest, profit, multiple income streams, and learning the rules to stock investing.

Learning the basic rules of finances will improve economic growth for everyone. Dr. Simini says its never to late to start learning and the impact is global. Financial literacy is an urgent issue that needs to be addressed, if not, the future holds the risks of extreme debt, poverty, and a collapsing global economy.
